Since I am trying my best to keep this board educational and to focus on the doctrine of the Reformed faith
Hi Rick!
I happened to grow up in western Michigan--Home of the Reformed and Christian Reformed Churches and a whole lot of Catholics, too.
They were always fighting and preaching to each other and as a teenager
who was none of the above, I just shook my head in wonder and sometimes anger when someone got carried away.
Since I became a Christian I enjoy learning about all churches. The two Reformed Churchs seem to be getting along now, and we have lots of them here and they all do many good things for the community (Catholics, too)
I have a favorite author that I believe is Reformed and he teaches me so much about Christianity as he teaches me about cults. His last two books were on the "King James Only" group and the Trinity. The one on the Trinity is so beautiful! His name is James White. Are you familiar with him?
I was amazed at his explaination of salvation being ALL GOD, as you stated on post #2. As a Bapist (at the time)--I was of the opinion that we had to "open the gift" God gives us all. But, I believe the Reformers have it right because "opening the gift" is works--Right?
