Since when is having a hearing on fairness of employee pay "socialist"?  Would it be socialist if we put more restrictions on chinese imports due to their unfair labor practices?  Is it socialist that we have a minimum wage?  Is anything that isn't pro-big business and pro unregulated/run-amok capitalism socialist?

There is a difference between regulation and socialism.  Regulation is meant to make the playing field fair.  Socialism is " any of various economic and political theories advocating collective or governmental ownership and administration of the means of production and distribution of goods"  - and by no means is Mr. Waxman or any other congressman suggesting that the goverment run all the businesses.
