SLL: "We on the left aren't concerned at all when an elected official lies under oath about his sex life with a consenting adult -- which should never have been a matter for the court in the first place."

Under oath, it doesn't matter what the reason, if you lie, you commit purjury. For example:

You are married and have an ADDITIONAL significant other. You are being interviewed (interrogated), under oath, by an FBI agent about a bank robbery you witnessed (were in the bank). He asks why you were at THAT branch as there is one much closer to your home. You were at your significant other's home but you tell the agent you had dry cleaning to pick up at a business nearer this branch.

If they ever find out you lies, even though it has nothing to do with the ir investigation, you can be charged woth purjury...a crime.

THAT'S why lying about sex was such a big deal... not the sex, the purjury.
