So how close to reality did Lee Childs get in his description? Inquiring minds want to know. :)

While I haven't researched his specific numbers, his description is accurate enough. I see in the literature several times a year of a kid getting hit in the chest with a baseball and dropping dead from an arrythmia.

With a punch, its all about the T-wave and re-polarization. Nothing to do with a hydrostatic shock. Now if you were talking about a bear hug, hydrostatics/pressures come into play.
