I made my first bass guitar purchase with backgammon winnings. That was in highschool, and my first victim only paid out 20 cents on the dollar.

In grad school, I put a second victim down +$10,000: he's a very good friend with whom I travel to Vegas to bet on Superbowls. I still keep the piece of paper on which is the series of games which resulted in his debt: maybe he'll win the lottery.

Two years ago, I found a third victim: brother of the first, friend of the second. He knows the history. I have a little glass bowl with about $500 in game debts from about ten encounters.
