I know I shouldn't look at my retirement fund on a daily basis, but ...

Could someone please tell me "Don't Panic" in nice calm friendly letters?

I know the short term doesn't matter, that an S&P index fund will be a good deal in the long run (15+ years for me). At least intellectually.

But it is still unnerving to watch that number go down every day.

(Of course there is also the market-timing part of my brain that keeps nudging me to put more in while it's cheap.)
