Viacom (VIA.B ): Reiterates 3 STARS (hold)
Analyst: Tuna Amobi, CPA, CFA

First-quarter earnings per share from continuing operations of 36 cents, vs. 29 cents is 5 cents above S&P's and 4 cents over the Street's estimates. Results were fueled again by strong double-digit gains in ad revenues at MTV Networks. Infinity's 2% radio revenue growth was better than expected, but high operating expenses weighed on both radio and outdoor segments. Viacom affirmed 2005 outlook for mid single-digit growth in revenues and operating income, and high single-digit growth in earnings per share.
