SP:"I'm in the same boat as you. I called for an appointment with a specialist I hadn't seen before. Of course they wanted to know how they would be paid ---which meant how MUCH they would be paid. When I said I had regular Medicare, they scheduled an appointment all right ---for two months down the line."

Most specialist are booked well ahead of time and take care of their regular patients before adding new ones.

Recently I had a reason to see a in in 3 weeks...not an emergency by any means....just some creeping psoriasis.... and for the most part has gone away....cut out too many tomatoes which seem to trigger it...... had 2 follow up appointments set up each 3 months apart. No issues with payment.

My heart doc is scheduled months fact, he'll schedule your next routine exam 18 months out...........and unless it's an emergency, it's weeks for most to get in.....

Nothing new here. Don't think it is much different on Medicare as to the 'wait time'.

Fortunately, this town is 'young' and vibrant so I guess there is lots of younger people to keep the percentage of oldsters down.
