I have two nephews and a neice that are just toddlers and they have started asking me about saving for the future already. Well, actually their parents have asked about investing money for college. Queston: index fund with the parents as custodians the best route? My mother wishes to help along the way, if not too many more kids come along, and I would contribute some also. Being infants, what tax ramifications would there be on earnings or can this money just go into a tax defered college savings account? I don't know what's available out there. Any suggestions and advice would be much appreicated.
