I am recently widowed and rely on my broker to squeeze out my monthly mortgage from my investments. It always falls short because the principal isn't enough so each year I am down some money. The last time I decided to take control myself, we had the tech bubble and I still feel responsible for the losses. Now that it's just me, I'm even more fearful so any advice as to how to proceed would help. I have some funds to get started and just subscribed to the stocks newsletter.

Thanks,
Evelyn
