I own stock in a company that announced:"the declaration of a 1.3 for 1 stock split in the form of a 30% stock dividend in respect to its common stock."I know what a split is and I know what a divedend is, but what does the above statement mean? Are they giving shareholders 30% more stock with no change in price?
For some reason stock splits are expressed as ratios, while stock dividends are expressed as percents. Are they giving shareholders 30% more stock with no change in price? Yes, hope they keep the $$$ dividend per share the same.
Good deal. Thanks for the response!
