My in-laws are working on their taxes (yes, they got an extention), and they are having trouble getting answers to their questions. They received Delphi and Raytheon stock as a spin-off from GM. How do they calculate the price for this stock? Their long-time tax preparer has died, and a new person is doing their taxes. Am sure the new person doesn't have the long-term knowledge of "small-town" taxes. Any help would be appreciated. I recently read something about this on one of the boards, but cannot remember which one I read it on. Thanks.
