I currently have shares of $4 JDSU in my brokerage account.
I still have a few weeks to sell it short for a loss of over 50%.
I have not made a 2005 contribution to my Roth yet.

Can I sell the stock and then repurchase it under my Roth and still write off the loss?

What if I buy it under my Roth first and then sell out of the brokerage account the next day? Does the 30 day waiting period apply to a Roth?
