Stop doing business with such companies!

Such companies are all companies. It is an unregulated system that is run amok. I also pay bills on-line, but I will never set up an automatic payment plan. The only one authorized to approve payments out of my checking account is me. When you give third parties permission, you lose control over your accounts and that just opens the door for mistakes for which you might pay over and over again.

This particular card only lets you download transactions into Quicken at the close of the statement period. Another does not let you specify a date for payment (all payments are same day), and a third makes you log in twice and open 3 pop-ups before you can make a payment. But at least it is free, if not easy.

It is like navigating an obstacle course, and every time you hit an orange cone, you get dinged. Couple this with the anti-bankruptcy laws and we will increase the separation of the classes already gulfing the country. The CCs are moving toward a system where once you fall off the straight an narrow, you will begin a long spiral from which recovery becomes more difficult the deeper in you get.

Who thinks those without internet connectivity have an even narrower path to avoid the many obstacles put in front of them...
