I have several long positions that have made some significant gains (to me, anyway) over the past 6 months. What do you do to protect those gains? Clearly, one option is to put in stop loss orders on these stocks. Another is to shrug off these events as near term hiccups and keep the long view and do nothing. What are some other ways that other Foolish folk use to guard their profits? I'm a bit concerned about the possibility of a market correction in the not too distant future.

Thanks for any input!
