My understanding is that my student loan interest is deductible, up to $2500, provided I and my wife (filing jointly) have an adjusted gross income of less that $130,000.

Our AGI is well below that ($82,000) , but H&R Block's TaxCut and TurboTax both tell me I can't take a student loan deduction. What am I missing?

Thanks in advance,
d.

You might want to check out Publication 970 from the IRS

Are you sure you picked "Married Filing Jointly?" You can't take the deduction if you're Married Filing Separately.
