Stupid question, have you checked under your sink to make sure it didn't get turned by mistake? Could your apartment's maintenance person have come in and done it without your knowing it? If not, then somewhere along the run from the bathroom to the kitchen the valve has been turned off. I don't know if there are any access panels where you could check and see, you might have to call the apartment manager to find out so you can check. If you're renting, I would definitely call them about this anyway. I know in our house, there are shutoff valves on all the water lines at several locations, both hot and cold, so it makes sense to me that this might be what you're dealing with.
