Actually, it's not. Unless you are trying to convince yourself that Jesus didn't really mean it when he said things like "Feed the hungry"

While I am not religious, (I don't believe in supernatural stuff) I do appreciate many good things that come from religion. Biblical stories put values, ethics, and morals in context for a lot of folks who may not have thought much about those things otherwise. For some, the simple threat of eternal damnation seems the only thing keeping them from a rampage. But there are a lot of negatives as well. It often serves as a poison, especially when religions is used selectively - and the broader, positive aspects are ignored.

I agree with you, if one focuses on the positive value messages embedded, like the one you mentioned, it can be easy to live. Its when the nuttery takes over that I have no tolerance...
