As the author of the cited post, I will happily reply to your question.

When I was refering to SDRAM as being on mainstreet, I was refering to the technology itself, not to Rambus's potential stake in it. SDRAM, the technology, is clearly a "mainstreet" technology .. it isn't in hypergrowth, the EDO-SDRAM tornado has happened, and SDRAM dominates the market for DRAM.

As for Rambus, the point I was trying to make is that when (and I believe it is "when", not "if") Rambus signs contracts will the majority of the major players, Rambus stock should adjust to the price of a Gorilla with one product on mainstreet (SDRAM) and one product in a tornado (RDRAM)

I hope that makes sense. We will all know, one way or another, within 6 months. (IMHO)
