Well dang, back to the drawing board. }};-D

So clean energy ... nuclear, hydro, wind and if you happen to have the right climate perhaps solar?

Nat gas is not clean, people claiming it is clean because you replaced dirty coal is like a bank robber taking only half as much at the stickup. Germany pretending they are replacing lignite with something else while opening new lignite mines ... really!

Germany is in a tough spot, their only abundant fossil fuel is lignite. They are neither particularly sunny nor are they all that windy. Imports of Nat gas from Russia by pipeline or as LNG are expensive and fraught with political risk. Shutting down clean nuclear power is like adding a pair of handcuffs to the mix? I wouldn't want to be the politician(s) who has to explain when they miss their self imposed deadlines ... but it won't be the ones who set them, they will be long gone.
