I love this board! You guys are all great. Here's the latest scoop on my job situation: got one today. I am very excited.

I will follow your advice and keep the money close so I can get at it if I need it until the job is solid. I'm not going to do anything frivolous with the money. I've done way too much of that over the last ten years. I really need to get new contacts since I can't see very well anymore (my vision is really bad anyway). My glasses are so old that if something happened to my contacts I couldn't do anything because I REALLY can't see well out of my glasses. Now I just need to figure out what to do with the meager amount that I invested in my 401(k).

Thank you again.

Ms Joe

PS -- I will check out that Suretrade article. Now I'm worried. I don't have any money invested other than my cash account. Maybe I'm OK.
