Thanks again to the recent posters! Some replies:

(1) My wife will be a SAHM when we have our first kid. She is employed for the time being =0). She is a teacher, so there's a good chance that once the youngest kid goes off to full time school (8AM to 3PM), she can regain her employment. Thanks for the further tips on saving for kids' college.

(2) I work in investment management, which gives me consistant daily reminders about how the markets work, plus I get to spend time around people with more market experience. I think this will help me out with JLC's point #4.

Thanks for all the other tips as well -- if I don't have much to say about something, it probably means that I was busy taking notes.
