Thanks Crosenfield.
I have a traditional IRA with a Vanguard 500 index fund and a Roth IRA with a Vanguard Balanced Index fund. Vanguard just told me on the phone that I don't need to open a new Roth account in order to get into global stocks. I can just add $4,500 (my max 05 contribution) to my existing Vanguard Roth account and specify the mutual fund that I want that contribution to go into.
So it will be easy and cheap for me to "go global" by telling Vanguard to put my new 05 contribution money into Vanguard Total International Stock Index (VGTSX). I didn't realize that you could have different sub funds in your one Roth account. I wonder if it is limitless? As long as I stay in the Vanguard Family of funds it seems like I can experiment with different amounts in different types of Vanguard mutual funds within my one Roth account.
I see no point in making anymore contributions to my traditional IRA account. Maybe I should look into rolling that over into the Roth? Then I'd have more cash to experiment with in my new Roth Personal Empire of Funds. (Cue the evil laugh Muaahahaha). This could be fun.
