Thanks for all of the great feedback. It seems the problem is that my family doesn't know how to plan meals and shop accordingly. I'm pretty nervous about telling my wife that she is paying twice as much as she should to run the house. She does take great pride in the work she does and would be very insulted. God knows if she goes on strike and makes me do all of the shopping, things would be even worse.

What I'll do is keep all of my grocery receipts for the rest of July. I'll plug them into a spreadsheet so I can tell how much I'm paying for various items.

What I would like to do in August is ask any super shoppers out there to look over this sheet and tell me that you think of it.

If there are any better ideas, I would love to year 'em.
