Thanks for the post, FixitWoman. I didn't think of those other adverse statements.

The reason for my post was to have a general discussion on the different problems that can occur on a report and the amount of time they stay on it (and I wanted to make sure my numbers were right). It really isn't something Im currently having a problem with on my CR. But after reading this board for a while, I started to become curious on how long does it take for a report to be clean again once someone has problems.

This could be just me but I would think that a 30 day late payment wouldn't be on the report as long as 60, etc. It seems silly that a 30 day late payment would stay on the report for as long as a Chapter13 bancrupcy. I understand that these items are weighted different by creditors and/or in the FICO score, but I was surprised by the rules on the length of time remain fairly standard at 7 years regardless of the type of violation.
