Thanks for the reply Crosenfield. I'm still left with a few questions however. What I don't understand about the ROTH IRA for example is whether I can choose at the time of withdrawal to change my dividends from reinvesting them into the stock to having them sent to me. I'm asking this because I would like to purchase several high yield shares for my stay at home mother and seeing that she has no income I was curious as to the tax implications. The same goes for me, with the difference being that I wanted to know the effect of placing such stocks in IRAs and withdrawing them.
