...is what I was getting at. However you provide the searchable content, it still has to be extracted by someone and set up. Never mind that your element structure and what each element actually means has to be documented somewhere otherwise how will anyone know what to search for? If your data structure becomes "loosy-goosy" because you have a lot of documents with oddball fields, managing that could become a chore in its own right.

There are definitely benefits to NoSQL, but I felt that your earlier description implied that it all "just worked" somehow, which is what I see a lot of NoSQL enthusiasts proclaim.
