They're pretty well off so maybe they don't care about the 12k as much as I do. ::fingers crossed:: I'd like to put that 12k to WORK!

Next I'm wondering how best manage the lump sum payment to best reduce tax obligations vs if I were to just take it as earned income; I may not have much choice.
