Thanks, PF. I will. My daughter teaches science and math in a private middle school right now. Unfortunately they are woefully behind their grade levels - and these are not American kids. But Heather loves to use technology when teaching. So the video games idea might be great for her.

And regarding the last article: "Very rarely do you witness math and science teachers or English and history teachers collaborating with each other." Heather really wanted to teach cross curriculum. She wanted her science students in high school (her first job) to write a paragraph answer on her first test. She was attacked for too hard. And one teacher told her she would be forever branded as too hard. Administrations don't want to do anything but pass those kids through the system. Pass the test. And if they didn't pass the test? Pass them any way. That's why Heather now teaches in Panama--because the school systems here are rigid and wrong-headed. That is her experience in Georgia any way.

I also have relatives who teach pre school so I'll pass those stories on to them as well.
