That was fun! I liked the freedom of the clarinetist in the opening. Very much what I would have expected from Gershwin.

I have always loved the Michael Tilson Thomas recording (not sure if it is San Francisco Symphony playing) because the players go all out with the kind of "talking" playing that I associate with jazz.

My son and I saw a performance by Cincinnati Pops a couple weeks ago. Excellent. I didn't realize how much Gershwin music I knew.

I kinda live vicariously through my kids when it comes to music. This one plays trombone in select band at school, and bass guitar in jazz band. He is one cool kid. I might be biased.

Rhapsody in Blue is my all time favorite. 51 years ago, I was lucky enough to be a part of a choral version of this masterpiece (With two piano accompaniment). We sang this in competition and won. Thanks for the link to a great performance!
