That's true. But my experience has been that the people who like their employer-based coverage the best, are the one's that haven't had to use it and don't know how crappy it is.

Seems unlikely that your experience is representative of the broader population, though. Employer-based insurance plans pay out literally hundreds of billions of dollars every year, which makes it exceptionally improbable that there are enough people who have never had to use their plan to account for those poll results. A lot of employer-based insurance is quite good, on average private insurance has a higher actuarial value than either Medicare or Medicaid, and the administrative loads of employer group plans (unlike the individual market) are usually rather low.

My own personal experience is that the people who have used their employer-based coverage at all of the firms I've worked at have generally been quite pleased.
