The 1040X should show the correct amount of additional refund you'll get. If it doesn't, you've done something wrong.

Hmmmm....I may have to go in and delete the whole thing, and do it again. I kept my original tax file, so I could do that.

In 2009, I got a refund. After this dividend reclassification I'm due more. On the 1040X line 15 is zero, and lines 10 and 18 are equal. Lines 19-22 are blank. The added refund should be on line 20.
