The 11k is a personal calendar limit. You could go to 12k, if you are 50 or older next year.

A problem you may have is the deferra; limit on your plan. Next year, plans can allow particpants to defer up to 100% of their income, not to exceed 11k. However, many plans limit deferral percentage, ours caps it at 20%. TO defer the full 11k, you would have to make $55,000.

If your plan has a cap keeping you from deferring 11k, mention it to your supervisor or HR department. Many plan sponsor are still unaware of the new rules for 2002.
