The answer to this question (maximum 403b contribution) is not the same as the answer to a similar question about 401(k) contributions.

You should consult the company that runs your 403b plan and your benefits department. In a 403b plan, there is something called the "maximum exclusion allowance." The MEA takes into account historical contributions to the plan and employer contributions.
