The art of genuine four-wheel drifting was performed with rear
wheel drives, whose adhesion was controlled by the heel-and-toe method.
Very few cars and/or drivers could do it.


In some cars, it's really easy. My '90 ZR-1 absolutely refused to stay stuck down and be driven properly, but if I hung the tail out about 20°, it would stay there all day long. So, that's how I autocrossed it. It had enough power to stay sideways on the straights, so I could keep the tires howling through an entire autocross run. I would have preferred to go fast instead.
