The contest is peddled to young people as a scholarship program. As South Carolina's representative, she probably won a scholarship at the State level. It leaves one wondering about two things: what on earth is the level of education in South Carolina and at what institution of higher learning is she going to use the scholarship (or stated differently, which institution is going to accept her)? Based on my own anecdotal experience with recent high school graduates, I'm betting that she has high grades and a high college admissions score, which is a commentary on something, I'm just not sure what. ;-)
