The first time I visited a Costco I was asked for my membership. I simply said I did not have one, and asked how could I decide whether to join if I couldn't see the store? They let me in.

Also, if the store has a Pharmacy it is open to everyone. Here in CT the booze/wine/beer store is open to everyone, has its own entrance. I understand that if there is someone there doing eye exams or hearing tests that too is open to everyone, but not buying glasses, contacts or hearing aids.
