It has been revealed that Scott Thompson, YHOO's new CEO, inflated his resume a bit.

Not a good thing if you're the CEO of a struggling company and trying to inspire employees and shareholders with your turnaround plans.

The "inadvertent" addition of a computer science degree on his background is troubling and raises questions about Thompson's character, but as our thesis is more focused on the monetization of YHOO's Asian assets than a turnaround, I'm not too concerned.

I will ask you this, though: How relevant is this to Thompson's actual ability to run YHOO?

I'd say minimal. Very few people I know are actually in a job that corresponds to their undergrad degree, and just because Thompson doesn't know how to program his company's website doesn't mean he's less qualified for the job of turning the company around.
