“…Billions of dollars of new investment are flowing into the development of concentrated solar thermal, photovoltaics, windmills, geothermal plants, and a variety of ingenious new ways to improve our efficiency and conserve presently wasted energy.”

The above quote is from former US Vice-President (and reportedly the "inventor of the internet") and Nobel Laurate, Mr. Al Gore, said on July 17-18, 2008

Now here is the reality between words and deeds and highlights the hypocrisy of the man: According to the Center for Policy Research in the state of Tennessee, energy consumption at Al Gore’s mansion in Tennessee increased from an average of 16,200 kW-hr per month in 2005 to 18,400 kW-hr per month in 2006. This consumption is a factor of 20 as much electricity used in one month by the average American household uses in a year. And let's face it, not a windmill in sight. At the same time, Gore’s mansion is burning more than $1,000 per month of natural gas. All of this consumption is taking place at a time when the press reported and made a big deal about all the money and energy saving devices Mr. Gore was reportedly investing to reduce his carbon footprint of his home.

I guess it is for us lesser mortals that the burden of a more eco-friendly, lower carbon footprint style of living is supposed to fall to compensate for the Nobel Laurate's energy enhypocrisy?
