The interesting question would be whose exactly sentiment is being judged?

I sorta think the real TA folks do not care "who" ... they just look at the chart for stock price direction of movement, and volume supporting the movement. They look at "recent history" such as moving averages, to indicate momentum.

Similarly, the emotion's effects are revealed in the chart. IMO, the TA artist doesn't care what is the actual emotion.

While I do look at TA... I use FA to decide if I want to be an owner of a company. Ie FA is much more important for my decisions, and my confidence in a company.
Once I've decided that a particular company MIGHT merit an investment, TA MIGHT cause me to hold off a few days... or jump on in (ie buy the dip).
