The Knot and Barnes & Noble Join Forces; The No. 1 Wedding Resource & The Nation's Largest Bookseller Team Up to Make Wedding Planning Easier

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 17, 2001--The Knot (NASDAQ:KNOT;; AOL Keyword: weddings), the nation's leading wedding resource, is working with Barnes & Noble (NYSE:BKS) stores nationwide to bring the finest wedding information to their customers. Beginning with an in-store center-table promotion featuring books selected by today's leading wedding expert, Carley Roney, co-founder and editor-in-chief of The Knot and Barnes & Noble, this collaboration will extend into a series of future online and offline ventures to simplify the wedding-planning process for today's busy to-be-weds.

As of January 2001, consumers who need wedding-planning information can head to Barnes & Noble stores and choose from a variety of wedding-planning books that have been handpicked by The Knot. Roney's own three-book wedding-planning series, including the newly-released "The Knot Guide to Vows & Traditions" (Broadway Books, January 2001), will be highlighted alongside noteworthy titles such as "Things A Man Should Know About Marriage" by Scott Omelianuk and Ted Allen (Berkley Publishing, December 1999) and "The Best Bachelorette Party Book" by Becky Long (Simon & Schuster, May 2000).

For additional information on wedding planning, Barnes & Noble to-be-weds will be directed to a special area on The Knot where, along with a free Knot membership, they will receive exclusive discounts to The Knot Gift Store & Registry, a one-stop shop with over 10,000 brand name items, and The Knot Wedding Shop, an online store featuring a vast selection of today's hottest wedding supplies.
