The new Brexit Deal gets rid of the hated Irish Backstop, mostly by not calling it a backstop, and places Northern Ireland in the EU customs union--including paying EU VAT--for at least four years, and maybe permanently. The deal needs to be approved by the UK Parliament.

Therein lies the rub, Parliament already said "no" to Theresa's (rather similar) deal. Next milestone on Saturday. With a little luck we are now getting close to the conclusion of this drama... or its second act at least.
