buying TCI and making a deal with Time Warner might just be the access to the local telephone markets. The cable internet is just gravy. Think about what Nico was saying about corporate mindsets. What has been T's mind set for the last 100 years? Providing telephone service. Then with the break up of T they were stripped of the local phone business. Now they find a way to get back into that lucrative business through the "back door". Maybe 40% of homes are interested in internet connections, but nearly 100% are interested in phone service today.

So while T can see the future, Internet in every home, they are concentrating on today, getting circuit based cable telephone up and running. Every home needs local telephone service. That is a larger market than the @Home internet market.

None the less I still think that the future is broad band interactive voice video and smellavision ;^) over cable/FO.

Good Luck,
