Thank you for recommending this post to our Best of feature.I have been to Point Roberts - tried to play golf but the course was closed for renovation. This was at the start of my east bound road trip across Canada. Quite exhilarating.JimAWhy doesn't this surprise me? Did you manage to play a round in Yellowknife yet? https://yellowknifegolf.com/There is one further north on Victoria Island "Ulukhaktok Golf Course", but it doesn't have a website. There is a small airport "Holman Airport". https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ulukhaktok/Holman_AirportWe built small airports all over the north where the Inuit had settled thousands of years ago. Mostly the aircraft back when I first did NorPloys were Twin Otters and old Dakotas. I recall a huge fog settled over the Easter Arctic and three Twin Otters 'disappeared'. We were about to go looking for them (from Thule) but when the fog cleared they all popped up on radio having set down and waited for the fog to clear. Maybe if Donald is not too busy he could buy the place and build the most amazing golf resorts? The only county in the US with ZERO Covid infections is Kalawao County HI. It's the active Leper Colony - and was a 'tourist attraction' till they shut down the borders. It's on the island of Molokai but a separate county with about 150 residents - nearly all old, some still suffering from effects of Leprosy. (Hansen's Disease). It's also got zero crime...... t.
It's also got zero crime...... Not enough incentive to want to live there. 😇The Captain
Hi Tim,I have considered flying in to Yellowknife to play golf. I originally had planned on driving up to Ft Smith and playing that course, but it turns out the Pelican Rapids course is actually in Alberta. So had to change those plans. I also considered driving up to Upper Laird (near Watson Lake) and playing Greenways Greens. But the distance and time needed exceeded my limits for that trip across Canada. But Canada really helped out in my plan to play golf in all the provinces by making the Yukon, Northwest and Nunavut territories and not provinces. And they also merged Labrador with Newfoundland and made that easy as well. Maybe someday I'll get to the territories,JimA

We were hosted at NAS Jacksonville and after the first few beer nobody kept score anymore. Just as one of us would be about to smash the ball someone would scream "Alligator". }};-@... uh does mini-Golf count? Tim
