I realize that people can only process so many issues at a time, and Zerocare has lots of problems. But the problem about which no one is talking (but they will) is the impact on employers. The increased expense of unwanted, unnecessary health care coverage mandated by Zerocare will result in not only the jobs that haven't been created up to now, but will result in higher layoffs, lower raises and other employee benefits that will need to be cut.

Those who have no understanding of business (PA morons, etc.) will no doubt buy the Admediastration lies about how businesses hate their employees. But it's obvious that businesses already fighting hard for revenue will not be able to unilaterally raise prices to cover these mandated increases. True, some prices will increase, but employers are more likely to cover the bulk of this expense by cutting workers, cutting benefits, or a combination.

There are fewer and fewer people working, and those that are working are losing ground. Meanwhile, those getting free stuff will get more free stuff. The forecast is for more of the same - Zero hates the middle class and doesn't mind picking their pockets to buy votes from the 'free stuff' crowd. Yellen will keep ZIRP in place, stocks will continue to go up, and liberal idiots will keep yapping about 'the 1%'.

When the MSM 'discovers' some of this next year, and accidentally reports it, remember that you read it here first.

Those who have no understanding of business

Most conservatives fall into that category. The vast majority of the businesses I have had to turn around were owned and run by conservatives.

Employers WANT better healthcare for their workers because it means lower costs of running the business. If you had ever run a business, you would know that to be true. People "out sick" is a major COST to the business--including loss of revenue. So, getting a NET result of lower costs (pay more but having fewer people out as much) increases profitability. They do not teach that in Business 101....

There are fewer and fewer people working

Of course. Boomer retirement are ~10k/day. New job entrants are far less--even counting automation, offshoring, etc.

remember that you read it here first.

<chuckle><chuckle>

That has been known for many years. OECD 2007 is one place you obviously never visted. It details healthcare costs. US quality of care = #37. US cost of care = #1 (highest). That is of the ~40 OECD industrialized countries. France quality of care = #1. Cost of care = ~ HALF of US cost (that is AFTER all adjustments--so comparing apples to apples). So, when you are prepared to save $1+T per year, CASH, whatcha gonna do?

no way

The Frenchies pay 46% of their income in taxes. One of the highest burdens in the entire world.

Then they get hit with $8 or $9gal gasoline and diesel.

Then uncompetitive shops and no shopping on the internet for discount goods. It's a major CRIME to sell below 'retail price' on anything from books to clothing. It's all union and guild driven inefficient work rules and restriction of business.

You pay full price for everything, and another 20% Value Added Tax on top of that.

That 'list' gave more points to 'fairness' that it did to actual medical care. They count their 'live births' differently and skew the statistics.

You'll live longer in the US and won't be pigeon cooped in a teeny apartment somewhere crammed in with millions of others who are crammed in .....and can't afford a car...... or even meals out.

Sorry, I don't see millions of immigrants flooding into France other than the islam--ohs who will take over the country within 40 years. With 8 kids per family, within 2 generations the muslims will outnumber the French. They it is really 'toast' for them.

Add up all the "fees" paid in the US, and the tax burden is 50% or more.

Then they get hit with $8 or $9gal gasoline and diesel.

Yet they have good public transportation nationwide. Unlike the US.

Nonsense. They shop in Italy, Spain, etc--all part of the EU. So they can buy anywhere in the EU with no problems.

You pay full price for everything, and another 20% Value Added Tax on top of that.

They are paid well enough to be able to afford it. Ah, you have wealth envy. They live longer AND better. So why would you support a system that makes you sicker more AND kills you off sooner?

You have never experienced living in Manhattan....

France controls immigration--unlike the US. Getting into France is not a big problem if the person is born in a former French territory because that is deemed to having acquired French citizenship. So, the people entering from North Africa are, in fact, deemed to French citizens because they are from former French territories.

we were only talking about taxes the feds collect. In France, you also have real estate taxes and local assessments.

and no...last year...including my real estate taxes and income taxes and sales taxes....were.....taa.taa....under 20% of my income

jerrylib:"Yet they have good public transportation nationwide. Unlike the US."

You get get from A to B...and if you have a family it's a real hassle riding buses, trolleys, trains, more subways, buses, etc to visit grandpa 150 miles away. takes longer than driving. And no, most of the rural areas of France have ZERO mass transit. Just like NE, or ND.....

The US has excellent mass transit systems in most larger cities. They aren't needed in smaller cities.

-----

jerrylib:"Nonsense. They shop in Italy, Spain, etc--all part of the EU. So they can buy anywhere in the EU with no problems."

Like I said, in France, you pay list price. Same in Germany. Other than government sanctioned 'sales' once a year (10% off) there are no discounters, no internet retailers selling for less. You pay full price. And , golly, you mean you'd spend $200 getting from France to Italy to save $30? gotta be a lib! But you get eaten alive having to pay list price on everything. Plus 20% VAT on top of that!

--------

jerrylib:"You have never experienced living in Manhattan...."'

Actually, you are wrong once again! Not only did I live in NYC for 2 years, my parents did.......from 1946-48. I was 0-2 years old at the time.

Even better, I worked one summer in NYC in 1966. commuted in and out of the city to suburban NJ....like my dad did for 35 years where he worked in Manhattan. Hot, sweaty..midtown Manhattan in the sizzling summer. Crowded, noisy, congested.

Jerrylib, you picked on the wrong guy.

Heck, the bleeding hearts in France let in any islam-oh. They are digging their own graves. Just like Sweden and all the 'refugees' they take.

So libs a few weeks ago were saying we were undertaxed, now they're making the case we're overtaxed.

With healthcare we spend the most money in the world and it's too much. With education we spend the most in the world and it's not enough.

They're bipolar. They have no idea what the **** they're talking about.

So libs a few weeks ago were saying we were undertaxed, now they're making the case we're overtaxed.

That is conservatives talking out of both ends at the same time--and both outputs are brown.

Conservatives NEVER talk about the effective tax rate--because that is the REAL tax rate (not the "posted" tax rate). The posted MSRSP of a car is $75,000 (= "posted" tax rate). You went in and actually paid $22,500 in cash for that new car. Why are you complaining about the $75k "list" price? You did NOT pay that price. That makes the people who complain about those prices hypocrites.

With healthcare we spend the most money in the world and it's too much.

Too much *for what we get*. Like paying $75k retail for a car that really sells for $22,500. So, which do you wish to claim?

With education we spend the most in the world and it's not enough.

Wrong again. The primary problems are not with the teachers. The problems are with the students' parents. Fix the problems with the parents and the problems with the kids mostly go away on their own. The parents' failure to accept "personal responsibility" is the problem conservatives refuse to face OR resolve.

LOL, show me a Conservative who isn't saying the parents should take more responsibility instead of us throwing more money at schools! As usual you have it 100% backwards here.

Is Thomas Sowell conservative enough for you? If so, just read "Black Rednecks and White Liberals" (which is one of my favorite books of all time, it's been out for quite awhile in fact) to see that conservatives have been barking up that tree for DECADES. However, what is the liberal response? "More money for education!"

What kind of a numbnut idiot keeps throwing money at stuff that is not the problem

Isn't that what liberals actually advocate, nothing more nothing less. We have to pay teachers better, we have to feed kids lunch, we have to teach them the sexual value of cucumbers etc.

Then they are going to come up with this garbage? While they fight parental choice?

Do you allow anyone to drive a vehicle because they suddenly decide want to it? Or do you require them to get a driver's license first? Then they have to prove they are able to protect the public from their mistakes by having some type of insurance to own a car.

Dude, liberal policies make it more likely for kids to grow up in a one parent household, it's just a fact, check out the 70% out of wedlock birthrate for black children. And Obamacare will have it's own set of "problems", i put it in quotes because i don't believe it's unintentional:

http://hotair.com/archives/2013/11/01/msnbc-analyst-obamacar...

The “easiest” solution would be to avoid the “wedding tax” entirely by getting divorced while still living together. … Instead of facing an exorbitant premium increase once their combined earnings hits $62,041 if they were to stay married, each cohabiting adult can earn up to $45,960 before Obamacare’s “tax credit”-free premiums kick in. Their annual after-tax savings at age 60 if they shack up and keep their individual earnings between $31,021 and $45,960 will range from $7,650 to over $11,000. The annual savings will slightly increase every year until Medicare kicks in at age 65. That kind of money can buy a lot of gifts for the grandkids.
