I'm not sure what you mean by low cap company. Are you referring to penny stocks? Or companies commonly identified as small caps?

There are lots of great small cap companies and plenty of mutual funds and investors who focus only on these type investments. There are risks and rewards. Far easier to move from one million a year in earnings to two million than from one to two billion. On the other hand small caps generally have far more volatility.
