There are some really neat monolithic domes along the south eastern coastline in hurricane territory. Many of these are built so that water can flow under them (thru the garage area).

In southern California where the brush fires burn every year some guy got wise and built his home with concrete walls, Spanish tile* roof and metal 2X4's. In other words fire proof. A few years later when the inevitable fires swept through the area his was the only house left standing.

The judicious use of some monolithic domes in schools (say their auditoriums) would at least give folks a place to seek shelter.

A GREAT idea!
