There were two three-week power outages in our neighborhood before we moved here. All the homes here have natural gas, and now most homes have gas-powered Genracs. The house we bought had one already. We've used ours a couple of times to keep the stove, freezer, AC, and thermostats for the gas furnace going for a short time. Even though it does not power the entire house, it makes a huge difference, especially if you have babies or elderly people who don't handle heat and cold well.


Considering that power outages are the most frequent problem that most people have to deal with, it makes sense.
