There you go. Want to do more? Encourage employers to impose mandates.

That too. Just under 40% of the unvaccinated are planning to get the shot or are merely hesitant. That's the low-hanging fruit of a concerted federal effort to raise vaccination rates - getting to those people and assuaging their fears and convincing them of the importance of immediate vaccination.

The other 60% or so will almost certainly come along if we start imposing mandates for work, school, or other activities. Most of them claim they won't comply, but experience has shown that if vaccine refusal starts to actually impact their lives, they'll just get the shot. There, the public relations effort is more directed at people other than the unvaccinated, so that these folks start to suffer real consequences from their refusal. There will always be a die-hard rump set of anti-vaxxers, but if you make things uncomfortable for the younger folks that are taking an easy 'stand' because there's little downside for doing it, you can start to erode the in-group conformity status that makes it easy for them.

But for any of that to happen, increasing vaccination uptake rates among the unvaccinated has to be a very serious priority.
