They are unlikely to be the "go to" vacation until either a vaccine becomes available (over a year away) or everyone in the world becomes infected.

The markets may be confusing the actual news about the rate of infection in a few places leveling off, and assuming that means a return to normal in a couple weeks. You would think they were smarter than that.

FCA and Honda have announced they expect to reopen their plants in May. Of course, a week ago, Ford said it would restart production on April 14. Ford has since put off it's restart date.

The new case data in Michigan is looking better. New cases for the 2nd, 4th, 5th and 6th have all been below the levels of the 1st and 3rd, sticking around 1500/day, but we are under a "stay home" order from the Gov, so only "essential" services are open.

Even if the automakers are given the OK to order production workers back to work, who will buy the new cars? Even if theaters and sit-down restaurants reopened, how many people will be too concerned about picking up the virus to patronize them? Add that to the millions that have been laid off and don't have the extra jingle to spend. That extra $600/week of unemployment payment only lasts until the end of July.
